Plons Kòrsou Foundation is a platform that aims to raise awareness and information about HIV & AIDS in Curaçao. We make concrete plans and implement them. We come up with appropriate solutions and offer support to really make a difference. In close collaboration with other organizations.

17 July 2020, a special day… What started as a good initiative to tackle the AIDS problem on the island, resulted on that date in the establishment of the Plòns Kòrsou Foundation and the Plòns Kòrsou Knowledge Foundation.

The board of the Plòns Kòrsou Foundation ensures a good organization. But the need to also form a group that focuses on knowledge and the medical aspect of the problem, and is also close to the patients, is great. That is why Knowledge Foundation Plòns Kòrsou was established.

There are many challenges; the presentation of the foundations in a society that already has a number of groups that are involved with the HIV / AIDS problem, but also the implementation of projects, and the financing of these projects in times of a not so rosy economy.

​

And then we have COVID, another virus that is putting pressure on healthcare, and therefore also the care for patients with HIV infection.  But it also changes the way we can come together. Where meetings, lectures, and symposia could be used to talk face-to-face, we now have to communicate remotely and achieve our goal. The importance of digitization is clear; at this time, but also in the future.

The Plòns Kòrsou Foundation would like to start the conversation about HIV / AIDS in Curaçao. To combat stigma and discrimination. To make sure people take the right precautions, and to make sure people get the right treatment. This conversation starts with correctly informing people, based on facts. It is important to point out to young people the need to inform themselves about HIV / AIDS, also in education.
